Crawford County, Missouri, police who responded to a case of domestic violence reports found three children locked in a shed located on the same property.

Police arrived on scene to a house party involving six adults who were engaging in what officers called a "party atmosphere." Reports said a woman at the residence had been injured.

Upon their arrival, the sound of yelling children turned their attention to a small shed roughly 100 yards from the house which was locked. Officers found three children inside: a 4-year-old, a 2-year-old and a 1-year-old. According to their investigation, the building contained two beds, as if it was supposed to be a bedroom. Police also noted the 45 degree temperature inside the shed, which was shown by an indoor thermometer.

After releasing the children, police ventured inside the second shed on the property and found six adults, including the woman who had suffered a minor head injury and was unconscious.

The five men and women inside were immediately arrested on criminal charges including three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. One man was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence.

The injured woman was taken to a hospital, and the children were treated on scene and handed over to other family members for care. Police did not disclose how the children were related to those arrested or the address of the incident.

Two of those arrested posted bond and were released from the Crawford County Jail. The others are in jail on a $10,000 bond.

Investigations continue by the Cuba Police and Missouri Highway Patrol.
